When he was just the horrible and scary mobster who was manipulating Jordan and trying to take over Sonny’s territory on General Hospital, there was no way anyone would have ever considered finding a way to redeem Cyrus Renault. But now that he’s been revealed as the half-brother to the beloved mayor, Laura Collins, do fans feel differently?

After all, viewers have loved Laura (Genie Francis) for over four decades but she hasn’t had much in the way of family in Port Charles lately — and even lost daughter Lulu (Emme Rylan) to a long-term care facility out of town. For 67%, even sharing DNA with Laura isn’t enough for you to want this bad mobster to receive redemption! WHAT?! After what he did to Lulu, making Julian (William deVry) place a bomb in a crowded restaurant that ended up almost costing his niece her life and actually killing two others? Not to mention Jordan’s (Briana Nicole Henry) former partners. Nope, stick a fork in him. He’s done.

Not so fast suggest 21% of viewers. Perhaps, if the story is written in a particular way, you may be able to see some daylight for Cyrus to make a turnaround. But he would have to want to change and right now, you’re not so sure you’re seeing signs of that capacity. But you’ll keep an open mind. For now.

This is an easy sell for 12% of you. After all, being related to Laura is enough of a reason to make you want him to stick around and it’s a lot easier if he’s not in prison.
