At the end of Wednesday’s General Hospital episode, Sonny Corinthos learned that Carly Corinthos was threatened by that upstart Johnny Novak. Cyrus Renault warned the fellow mafioso that a guy with something to prove is worrisome and dangerous. Sonny didn’t like either development and promised his wife he’d take care of it cause he’s back!
General Hospital: Sonny Takes Control
But is Carly (Laura Wright) really content to sit back and let her husband take back the reins of the organization? She sure seemed pretty good at handling things during those nine months he was off tending bar in Nixon Falls. Granted it was a rookie mistake to let her guards wait outside The Savoy and it wasn’t great that they didn’t flinch when the mobster entered.
Even so, she handled him fine and then Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), as the owner of the establishment, took out the trash, so to speak. Novak tipped his hand and Carly knew what to do to batten down the hatches and keep herself safe — even before she fielded that call for her husband.
Right now, the newly reunited General Hospital couple are on the same page but what’s going to happen when Sonny (Maurice Benard) goes to make a move that Carly feels is a strategic mistake? Will she speak up and point out the error she sees? If she does, how will Sonny handle such a development? And will Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), who respects Carly, be around to smooth things over?
He’s pretty busy right now in Greece, dealing with Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) search for her missing mother. Carly looks to Jason to take her side and help her get her way. Dynamics are changing and what the future holds could be shocking. Will General Hospital go down this route? It could be fascinating if they do.
