On this Valentine’s Day, Soap Hub would like to celebrate the one couple on General Hospital that currently embodies everything we love in a soap opera pair. This duo overcame odds, fought outside forces, and are now raising kids in the midst of a very soapy story.
General Hospital Love
Nurse Elizabeth had just done something very dumb and manipulative. She had kept Jason Morgan’s identity from him (but of course, it turned out the man she omitted the truth from was NOT Jason Morgan after all). After that fiasco, she found herself alone with three kids and Franco found himself alone after he didn’t want to give Nina kids.
And then Franco and Elizabeth became friends and fell in love. Liz certainly had to defend her choice because Franco was a serial killer who got off on the brain tumor defense — yes, for our purposes of loving Roger Howarth as Franco, we accept that brain tumor defense. A tumor made him do it, and then a beautiful couple was born.

Howarth and Rebecca Herbst have all the chemistry and their natural banter shines through even nearly two years into the pair’s on-screen marriage. Is Franco’s best feature his hair or his butt? They actually debated this in the elevator the other day showing just how fun and adorable they are.
When Franco thought he was Drew, did Elizabeth give up on her man? Nope. She fought. She forgave all the horrible things he did as Drew and was right there when he woke as Franco again, looking for a snack.
Franco, Elizabeth, and her three boys are a family and despite the return of his soapy tumor and some leftover Drew memories, they also bring normalcy. Of course, that tumor and Peter’s voices in Franco’s head can’t mean anything good for this pair, but we see them getting through it together and can’t wait to watch it happen.
