A Surprise Maurice Benard and Vanessa Marcil Reunion GH Fans Will Love

It was a huge weekend for General Hospital star Maurice Benard, as he and his family celebrated the wedding of his daughter Cailey to Carlos. But it was a huge moment for GH fans too — because the actor revealed a very special reunion with former onscreen love Vanessa Marcil that happened at the happiest place on earth — Disneyland!

The romance of their GH characters, Sonny and Brenda, continues to inspire fan devotion to this day, despite the fact that their union has been over for years and his character’s successful pairing with Carly (Laura Wright) in the time since. But the two actors sure know how to please the viewers.

Benard revealed a video of the reunion to his Instagram account this morning, which not only showed the two addressing the camera but also tearing it up on the dance floor to AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” — a move that will surely thrill fans to no end.

“I just want to say,” began Benard, after Marcil admitted she was nervous, “I’m so happy that I got to see Vanessa again.” The statement earned him a big kiss on the cheek from her, as well as her hand embracing his chin. The actor’s smile was huge as he continued, “…at my daughter’s wedding.”

The two actors bantered a bit after that but it was obvious the magic between them will never go away. Certainly fans of Marcil and Brenda continue to hope to this day that she will one day return to reclaim the love of her life. Certainly, it could have been interesting to see if the spark would reignite while Sonny is without his memory, thinking he’s good guy Mike.
