A Critic’s Review Of General Hospital: Truths Exposed and Baby Swaps

When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For a week we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review

Praise truth, and honesty, and forward momentum. The true cause of Chase’s (Josh Swickard) illness has been revealed – thank you Anna (Finola Hughes); it’s about time you step up to the plate and actually do something worthwhile.

Cyrus (Jeff Kober) has finally obtained his dear, dear mommy, so it’s goodbye weepy, neutered crime boss, and hello force to be reckoned with! Here’s hoping that the only thanks Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) receives are further orders from Cyrus, who now has the formerly intelligent Cassadine well underfoot.

Carly (Laura Wright) has unleashed her inner badass and moved heaven and earth to install Jason (Steve Burton) into a far more advantageous position – though it could have come at the expense of loyal to a fault Shawn (Sean Blakemore. Kudos for the timely convo between Molly (Haley Pullos) and T.J. (Tajh Bellow) about the harsher sentence imposed on Shawn, a black man, for the same crime committed by Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

The long-gestating Nixon Falls storyline finally heated up thanks to the arrest of the actual thieves terrorizing the burg – that persnickety trooper had better beg on bended knee for “Mike’s” (Maurice Benard) forgiveness – and for Jax’s (Ingo Rademacher) recognizing Sonny for he really is.

Sure, sure. We know that the plot will continue to be dragged out – spoilers have already warned that Nina (Cynthia Watros) will be doing her utmost to convince Jax he was merely hallucinating. But if history is any indicator, Nina’s attempts will, in the end, fail spectacularly. She’s just not any good at this whole criminal thing.

Further GH Musings

* Kudos to the writers for involving Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) in the ongoing, or should we say upcoming baby swap story. That was a twist we did not see coming, but we welcome it.

* So, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), Anna (Finola Hughes), and Finn (Michael Easton) have expressed an interest in ridding the world of Peter (Wes Ramsey). Please, please, please tell us we’re getting that long-anticipated whodunit mystery!

* Did anyone else miss seeing Brando (Johnny Wactor) and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) this week? There the breath of fresh air that we didn’t know we needed. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
