When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.
What’s that you say Cyrus (Jeff Kober)? Peter (Wes Ramsey) has, at most, a week to live? Can we get that guaranteed? Because this man has been racking up enemies – and potential assassins – like nobody’s business, but he’s still remaining vertical, and very much alive.
The only thing more frustrating than Peter’s continued existence, is all the shenanigans going on over in Nixon Falls. Did “Mike” (Maurice Benard) really fail to take into account an alarm blaring when he entered Elijah’s (Dan White) office? And who didn’t see Nina (Cynthia Watros) getting caught out by Mr. Crow about an hour before it actually happened?
Both of these plot points – Peter’s reign of terror and Sonny the Mighty Amnesiac – seem to have been going on for years now, and neither one seems to have an end in sight.
As far as we can tell, Peter will go on sinning and Nina – who has gone from passively keeping Sonny’s survival a secret to actively ensuring that his loved ones continue to mourn him – will wiggle out of her current predicament and live to awkwardly flirt with “Mike” another day.
* Brava to Sydney Mikayla for her skillful handling of the scenes in which Trina laid herself bare to Cameron (William Lipton) by pointedly sharing her experiences of both overt and covert racism. Equally deserving of kudos are Briana Nicole Henry and Brook Kerr, and the writer who scripted that powerful exchange between Jordan and Portia.
* Thank God somebody finally reminded Sam (Kelly Monaco) that she has two children that she needs to be home taking care of, instead of gallivanting around town desperately seeking her ex-husband.
* It was wise of GH to build up the tension surrounding Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) “condition.” In the lead up to the reveal, we were fearful that the heart attack had done far more damage to the model’s body than initially thought, so color us as surprised as Cyrus by the baby news.
* Exactly why do Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) feel the need to temper their relationship outside the confines of the hospital? It’s not like Chase (Josh Swickard) is going to slip out of the hospital and onto Monica’s (Leslie Charleson) property in a bid to see his lady love.
On second thought, maybe he should. Is he even aware of the fact that Alan (Stuart Damon) gave Monica that mansion? Everyone should be made aware of the fact that Alan gave Monica that mansion. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
