A Critic’s Review of General Hospital: Ladies Who Launch…A Plot

General Hospital A Critic's Weekly Review April 26-30

When it comes to General Hospital, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the GH week that was.

General Hospital: A Critic’s Week In Review

In Port Charles, sisters are doing it for themselves – and this soap is all the better for it. Ditto the fact that the “sisters” in question are Laura “I Helped Save the World From Being Turned into a Block of Ice” Collins (Genie Francis), Ava “My Tongue Is Just About As Dangerous As My Always On-Hand Revolver” Jerome (Maura West), Carly “Walk Tall And Carry A Baseball Bat” Corinthos (Laura Wright), and Britt “The Britchy Daughter of Faison” Westbourne.

But there’s remains one nagging question. Why hasn’t Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) been clued in as to the identity of her husband’s actual assassin? The woman has literally spent weeks wringing her hands and vacillating between believing the worst of Jason (Steve Burton) and wondering if maybe she’s only seeing what she wants to see.

Bringing her into the “inner circle” would, at the very least, finally give her some much-needed closure. And it’s not like ole Liz hasn’t bent a few laws in her time. What’s helping one of her former lovers escape from the hospital in the long run?

Further GH Musings

* Chemistry tests have been all the rage as of late: Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), Liz and Finn (Michael Easton), Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard), Jason and Britt, Nina and Elijah (Dan White), Nina and Sonny, and Robert (Tristan Rogers) and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) just to name a few. But who’s passed the proverbial test? None other than Liesl (Kathleen Gati) and Scotty (Kin Shriner), of course.

* Color us surprised that the long-ago “Dev steals Josslyn’s diary, forges an entry, and then shares it with Cameron” plot point was revived. Does this mean we’re finally getting the long-teased Josslyn/Cameron coupling?

* “What is this?! I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours?” Could Maxie (Kirsten Storms) REALLY not see that the tummy that Brook Lynn bared was a fake one?

* So many Port Charlesites in Nixon Falls, and so many opportunities for one of them to run into Sonny (Maurice Benard). Whatcha want to bet that none of them do…especially Trina (Sydney Mikayla)? As if they’d have her be the catalyst for ending this seemingly endless story. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
