The Voice is now in its final week of Battle Rounds. This means Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton have been forced to pare down their teams, little by little.
First up: Team Adam’s Brandon Brown and Jon Mero who covered I Wish It Would Rain by The Temptations. Levine was torn by the performance by these two power singers, but ultimately went with Mero as his choice.
Red Marlow and Ryan Scripps took on Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s Fishin’ In The Dark for Team Blake, with Shelton keeping Marlow in his fold.
Then, Addison Agen and Karli Webster of Team Miley offered a stripped down version of the Cyndi Lauper anthem, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. This was appropriate given all members of Cyrus’ group have so far been female.
After some astounding harmonizing, Cyrus ultimately picked Webster over Agen who became possible steals for Adam and JHud. Karli gladly went with Levine, a true fan who turned for her during the Blinds.
Anna Catherine DeHart and Kristi Hoopes covered Martina McBride’s Independence Day, for Team Blake, after which time Shelton chose DeHart.
As for JHud’s Alexandra Joyce and Jeremiah Miller? Their rendition of One Call Away by Charlie Puth made Miller the winner.
And, for Team Adam, Emily Luther and Gary Carpentier grappled over the beat-driven Send My Love (To Your New Lover) by Adele. Levine ultimately went with Luther.
Shi’Ann Jones and Stephan Marcellus entered The Voice stage to give their all to a soulful rendition of The Beatles’ classic Oh! Darling with JHud deciding to keep Jones. Marcellus remained safe, since Cyrus stole this dynamic dude, making him the sole male on her team as of Monday.
And finally, Anthony Alexander and Michael Knight sang The Weeknd featuring Daft Punk’s smooth I Feel It Coming, representing Team Adam. Levine made the tough call to stay with Alexander–meaning Knight was toast and his team of eight was complete.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m., ET.
