This Is Us Flashback Video: Jack Encourages Randall To Be Different

There are a lot of great TV dads out there, but Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) on This Is Us takes the cake. Not only does he love his children unconditionally, he does everything he can to help them become the best people they can be.

In this flashback video, Jack notices Randall (Lonnie Chavis) is pretending not to be good in math so that he doesn’t stand out from his siblings, and of course Jack doesn’t want that!

“You know your mom and me, we always try to treat you kids the same. Always have, but it hasn’t always worked because, well, you’re not all the same. You’re adopted, and we don’t talk about that enough,” Jack tells his son. Watch the clip above to see their sweet father-son moment.
