There’s an old adage — hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. So what would happen if one were to run afoul of a female crime czar masquerading as a simple car dealership owner? That’s exactly where Santiago Mendoza finds himself on the ninth episode of Grand Hotel when he confronts his mysterious – and dangerous -benefactress.
Below are the top five OMG moments we absolutely loved from the latest episode of Grand Hotel entitled Groom Service. See if our awesome moments match your own.
Tough Negotiator
Santiago (Demian Bichir) wants a face to face with Mateo’s (Shalim Ortiz) superior. Things at the Riviera Grand have become untenable – especially after Javi almost died after an act of sabotage by the shadowy figure that leaves Mateo shaking in his boots. Santiago follows his handler on a money drop and is surprised to be lead to a car lot.
Ever the genial hostess, boss lady Teresa (Katey Sagal) is delighted that Santiago has made an appearance – at her place of business, without warning (not!). She drops some not-so-subtle hints that Santiago has made a very-wrong move and sends him on his way. Later, she tells Mateo that Santiago needs to be punished for his insolence.
Reunion
Carolina (Feliz Ramirez) and Yoli’s (Justina Adorno) father is so desperate to see Gigi, and they are so desperate to please him, they ignore Gigi’s fantasy of flattening her ex like a pancake – Wile E. Coyote style – they end up angering her.
When they arrange a meeting in the hotel’s spa, Gigi (Roselyn Sanchez) greets the husband who left her penniless with a swift punch to the nose. But Felix (Adrian Pasdar) insisted that he wasn’t the bad guy and that Gigi should take a closer look at her new boo. After all, Felix claims, Santiago is the one who turned him in to the FBI.
Out and About
Alicia (Denyse Tontz) and Danny’s (Lincoln Younes) on-and-off relationship is most defiantly back on and the two have found quite the cover for their morning, afternoon, and evening assignations – a fake room service order delivered to Ms. Mendoza by the ever-faithful waiter, Danny.
But after arranging a spectacular wedding ceremony for a same-sex couple, Alicia wants more. She wants to be able to date Danny out in the open and have him sit with her at the table during the all-important family breakfast (somebody’s been watching Dallas). After a brief hesitation (not wanting the scrutiny), Danny kisses her in public.
New Ally
Two detectives are poking around the Rivera Grand while investigating the collapse of The Finn’s mezzanine. The senior partner is Mateo’s inside man, and Danny remembers him as the ineffective cop who stalled the investigation into Sky’s disappearance.
To Danny’s great surprise, the man’s colleague approaches him and tells Danny that not only does she remember him (causing Danny brief anxiety that he has been busted), but that she is aware that her partner is dirty and she wants to forge a partnership to bring him down. She even thinks that she can help get answers about Sky.
Upsetting the Applecart
Just as life seems to be going well for Danny, a complication arises. The newest guest to register at the hotel is no other than Heather (Elizabeth McLaughlin) – Danny’s long-time girlfriend who he recently ended things with via text message. Might the copper-headed beauty be nursing a grudge against her ex?
