It was the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth on the season finale of Grand Hotel – entitled A Perfect Storm. But just as soon as the investigation into Sky’s disappearance was wrapped – and her murderer unmasked – a brand new Who Done It? mystery was launched.
Just like that, everyone at the Rivera Grand became a suspect once again. Below are the top five moments we absolutely loved from the latest episode of Grand Hotel. Find out if our standout moments match your own.
A Voice From Beyond the Grave
Danny (Lincoln Younes) was floored to receive a call from Sky but his elation was soon soured when it turned out to be the hotel receptionist calling the turned-in cellphone’s most recent contact.
However, when Danny collected the phone, he and Alicia (Denyse Tontz) managed to find and listen to a recording made by Sky during her confrontation with Gigi (Roselyn Sanchez). Their dialogue revealed that Santiago had no knowledge about Jason being his son and that Sky was blackmailing Gigi – cash in exchange for the return of Beatriz’s suicide note.
Tired of the lie and the deceit and knowing that Santiago (Demian Bichir) was dangerously close to rumbling his true identity, Danny threw caution to the wind and confronted Gigi in the Mendoza penthouse. He wrestled a butcher’s knife from her hand and demanded answers about Sky.
When Gigi shouted for help from Santiago, the man broke down the locked door with an ax and attacked Danny. With Santiago poised to throw Danny from the balcony – to protect Gigi from prison – his missus finally revealed that she wasn’t responsible for Sky’s death but she knew who was.
Danny wanted the truth but he wasn’t really prepared to hear it. Especially when Gigi revealed that it was Malcolm Parker (John Marshall Jones) who killed Sky by striking her in the back of the head with a tree branch. Danny confronted the dying man in his hospital room but declined to call the police because “I think the universe found another way to punish you.”
Mum’s The Word
Maintaining his sobriety isn’t an easy feat for Javi (Bryan Craig), and he certainly plays with fire when he beds a fellow recovering addict who’s secretly taken a hard fall off the wagon and resorted to taking swigs from the mini alcohol containers. And his new lady friend needs no introduction to Ingrid (Anne Winters), who greets the older blond with an aggravated, “Mom?!”
Who Done It?
Just a few weeks – or is it days – later, Malcolm has passed and his memorial service is held at the Rivera Grand. But the former head of facilities might not be the only character meeting his end. In the show’s closing moments, hotelier Santiago is ambushed by a figure hiding in the shadows and he takes a bullet to the chest! But just who could the assailant be?
Perhaps it’s Gigi, who’s grown awfully concerned with the contents of her spouse’s will as of late. Or maybe it’s a revenge-minded Felix (Adrian Pasdar), who has informed Carolina (Feliz Ramirez) that he is returning to Miami after learning she’s been put in his will. Or could it possibly be Helen (Wendy Raquel Robinson) who’s desperate to keep Jason’s (Chris Warren) paternity a secret? Even recently fired Mateo (Shalim Ortiz) is in the frame.
Regardless of who pulled the trigger, it isn’t looking good for Santiago. That entrance wound is dangerously close to the heart and he is losing copious amounts of blood without anyone in sight to assist him.
Is this the end of the Mendoza patriarch? Is this the end of Grand Hotel? ABC is expected to decide the show’s future after ratings are revealed for this finale episode — a cliffhanger indeed!
