In fact, his name gets brought up while Cookie and Becky are gossiping over ice cream. “Jamal and I used to wear these to our sleepovers all the time,” Becky said in the episode, wearing her pajamas.
“No wonder that boy ran off to London,” Cookie added. So there you have it! Jamal is hanging in London and has no plans on returning to be with his family.
2. Lucious and Cookie Are Reunited
Cookie and Lucious are reunited at the doctor’s office in what was supposed to be Andre’s checkup, and the two have it out. Cookie reveals she’s not interested in getting back together with Lucious and is focusing her energy on her family, not him.
Lucious finds out Cookie never actually slept with Damon, but it doesn’t matter anymore. Though it’s Empire and anything can happen — especially when it comes to Lucious and Cookie — it certainly looks like these two want nothing to do with each other right now.
1. Someone’s Dead
It wouldn’t be an episode of Empire if someone didn’t die, right?! In the last few moments of the premiere, Andre’s confronted by the man he paid to kill one of his enemies in prison. The two fight and Andre ends up strangling him until he is unconscious. Andre carries his limp body away, implying that he’s more than likely dead. Not to mention, while all of this is going on, Andre’s partner Teri goes into labor and appears to be having a miscarriage. Can Andre catch a break?!
The action then jumps ahead once again nine months and it looks like someone else may be dead — namely Lucious. He’s certainly not looking good. Do we know how the show plans to end this epic six-season run now? Say it ain’t so, Empire! Not Lucious!
