Every fan of Dancing With the Stars has their favorite pro (or pros), but there are a few dancers who have proven themselves to be better than the rest. While every professional on the show is a great performer, it takes charisma, creativity, and confidence to be the best.
Here’s our ranking of the top five DWTS pros over all 27 seasons of this hit ABC show. See if your favorites match up with our list!
Derek Hough
There’s no denying that Hough has been the face of DWTS for a long time, even though he’s not even on the show anymore! Not only has he won the show a number of times, but he has also created some of the most memorable dances of all time. The show wouldn’t be what it is today without Hough’s genius.
Edyta Śliwińska
Śliwińska was on the first 10 seasons of DWTS and definitely was a fan favorite during her decade-long run. She was never able to eke out a win, but she did come close a few different times — and she always looked gorgeous doing it.
Sharna Burgess
After many seasons of not walking away with the Mirrorball Trophy, Burgess finally won last season with the unlikeliest of partners, Bobby Bones. Burgess has been competing on the show for over 10 seasons and is definitely one of the most creative choreographers to ever hit the dance floor. Plus, she always knows how to make us cry!
Mark Ballas
Like his best friend Hough, Ballas has been the face of DWTS for many years. He has been on the show on-and-off since Season 5 and has taken home the Mirrorball Trophy two times. Ballas always has the most interesting choreography, and he’s never afraid to take a risk.
Cheryl Burke
Not only has Burke been on the show for quite some time, but she was also actually the first female pro to win the Mirrorball Trophy! Though she hasn’t been able to win it in a while, she has come close a number of times and has found ways to work with such different partners.
Honorable mention — The Brothers Chmerkovskiy
Our honorable mention goes to both Val and Maks Chmerkovskiy. Maks was there at Season 2 and was on and off until Season 25, while Val came on the show in Season 13. Maks has won once and Val has won the trophy twice. Now that Hough is no longer on the show, Val is definitely the new face of DWTS.
