Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, The Young and the Restless) has left daytime behind but he’s still part of serialized storytelling. His hit TV nighttime drama, This Is Us, returns for a second season tonight on NBC at 9 p.m.
The second season picks up with the 37th birthday of the three Pearson siblings – Kate, Randall and Kevin (played by Hartley). Tonight’s episode is titled “A Father’s Advice.”
That’s Show Biz
Watch for Kevin to balance the demands of his career and his relationship. He walked off what he considered to be a ludicrous sitcom last year but this season Kevin will be making a blockbuster action flick with guest star Sylvester Stallone!
“When you get Sylvester Stallone interested, you know you’re doing something right,” says Hartley, who describes the movie Kevin will be doing as “a period piece war movie [with] a big, massive budget.”
Might Kevin’s commitment to the movie create conflict with his relationship with Sophie? “I hope so,” Hartley says. “For storytelling purposes, I hope his life gets complicated!”
