The Walking Dead Star Cleans Up His Signature Look

Cooper Andrews was first introduced on The Walking Dead as King Ezekiel’s trusted right-hand man Jerry during Season 7, and he quickly has become a fan favorite.

Cooper Andrews Changes His Look

In addition to being friendly and one of the most optimistic of the survivors, Jerry often can defuse any tension with his jovial manner and is known for being a nice guy. The character is also known for his heavy mustache and beard, which is why what Andrews did this week may be somewhat off-putting to fans.

On his Instagram page, Andrews posted a video sans his trademark beard. “Since everyone is growing out their beard and their mustache, I figured I would shave mine,” he said. “It’s been the first time in a little over four years that I’ve done it this way, and my face is cold!”

Among those who weighed in on his new look was former The Walking Dead castmate Steven Ogg, Savior Simon who knew a little something about mustaches himself, sporting an impressive stash and chops while on the show, saying “handsome! Sending love to you all,” he wrote.

Ogg famously also had his face shaven on a live episode of Talking Dead, with Christian Serratos (Rosita) and show host Chris Hardwick having the honor of cleaning up his face when viewers voted whether he should keep his hairy look or not.

Fans who might be speculating that a beardless Jerry could mean the end of Andrews’ time on the show, keep in mind that The Walking Dead already filmed its season finale so the actor won’t need to be back in Jerry-form until filming for the next season begins again. With things shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there’s no telling when that might be.

As someone so beloved, it’s a good bet that Jerry will be there for his wife Nabila and three children for the start of Season 11 — with his beard in tow.
