The Walking Dead was apparently an influence with Starbucks who has released its newest limited edition drink: the Zombie Frappuccino.
Available at select outlets of the Seattle-based coffee franchise through October 31, this Halloween-inspired libation was a barista’s challenge.
The “ghastly green” beverage was made with tart green apple and caramel with Frappuccino Crème as the main ingredient. Pink whipped cream (representing brains) and red mocha drizzle (representing blood) topped off the drink for the desired zombie effect.
Although The Walking Dead is not necessarily called out as the inspiration for this seeming tribute to the undead, TWD fans absolutely loved this special while it was available.
After all, Starbucks used other concoctions to pay tribute to such horror show stars as Frankenstein and Dracula in their Franken Frappuccinos and Frappula Frappuccinos, offered in year’s past.
We hope you enjoyed your bloody good Zombie Frappucino this year and watched The Walking Dead re-runs with this fascinatingly tasty treat by your side. It was so popular, there are whispers that Starbucks is even thinking of making this an annual treat, so you might find more in 2018.
