Actor Grant Gustin, who has played Barry Allen AKA The Flash since 2014, revealed the horrible news Friday afternoon that the talented young actor who played his character as a teenager, Logan Williams, has died.
Gustin, who is only 30 years old himself, took to social media to let fans know about his young co-star’s passing and to pay tribute to the talented actor he found him to be.
“Just hearing the devastating news that Logan Williams has passed away suddenly. This picture was early in the filming of The Flash pilot episode back in 2014. I was so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set,” he wrote in the caption, alongside a picture of him with Williams and co-star Jesse L. Martin (Joe West).
“My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them. Please keep Logan and his family in your thoughts and prayers during what has been a strange and trying time for us all. Sending love to everyone. ❤️”
The actor who portrayed The Flash back when the series was on primetime in 1990-91, John Wesley Shipp, and who also has appeared on the current version as both Jay Garrick and Henry Allen, also paid tribute to the young star on his Twitter account.
“Heartsick to learn of Logan Williams’ death at 16. He was 100% committed to playing young Barry Allen, and we missed him once we moved past that part of the story. Love and compassion to Logan’s family and friends in your grief.”
Williams was born on April 9 in Vancouver, an only child to mother Marlyse and father Clive. He landed the very first audition he had at age 10, playing Jack in the Hallmark movie Color of Rain. In addition to his role on The Flash, he appeared in 13 episodes of When Calls the Heart with Jack Wagner and Lori Loughlin.
No cause of death has been revealed. Entertainment Hub sends heartfelt condolences to his parents, his entire family, friends, and fans during this very difficult time.
