Former Bachelor star Ben Higgins split from his ex-fiancée Lauren Bushnell over a year ago, but there are countless fans who want them to give their love another shot.
However, despite the strong fan support, the former leading man is moving on with his life and opened up to Entertainment Tonight at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas about why they’re just not right for each other anymore.
“You know, I don’t think our lives have gone any closer than they were a year and a half ago,” the Denver, Colorado native shared. “Maybe if they were aligning or we were crossing paths, or we had spoken, I’d say oh, there’s a shot, but we’ve continued to go like this. So I would say I don’t see that path or that possibility happening at this point.”
Though their relationship did not work out in the end, Ben wants nothing but good things for Lauren in her future.
“I hope for the best for her, I don’t want to talk about her break up anymore,” he confessed. “Every time I talk about it, I feel it again or I think about it, and we’re both good. We’re doing our thing.”
And, now that Colton Underwood is filming his upcoming season of The Bachelor, Ben has a few words of wisdom for the 26-year-old.
“My only regret from doing The Bachelor was, I took it so serious that I didn’t allow myself to have any fun and I, really, I was always on edge,” Ben admitted. “I always waiting for something to erupt and occur that caused havoc in the house and I just didn’t allow myself to be kind of like at peace.”
We’ll have to wait and see if Colton takes Ben’s advice when the new season of The Bachelor premieres in January 2019!
