Taylor Swift proved once and for all that she’s the best friend ever! The singer surprised her pal Alex Goldschmidt, who also happens to be one of her biggest fans, after he got engaged to his fiancé Ross.
Alex popped the question to Ross over the weekend, but the celebrated their engagement with close friends and family shortly afterwards.
Then, while at the engagement party, Taylor comes out and surprises the crowd with a performance of her song “King of My Heart.”
“So Alex emailed me and said that he was going to do this and that there was a song that was very special to you two called ‘King of My Heart,'” Taylor says in a video from the party.
“I’ve been off tour for a while, but hopefully it’s alright. This is from Alex, but sung by me.”
Alex shared a video of the performance with the caption, “I decided to propose to Ross listening to this song in my car. I can’t thank Taylor enough for wanting to help make this day so special.”
Of course fans freaked out over the surprise and loved that Taylor decided to perform the song for the couple.
“Alex Goldschmidt and his fiancé are the cutest and most blessed to have such a surprise acoustic performance by @taylorswift13 to further celebrate their engagement,” one fan wrote.
“Alex Goldschmidt got Taylor Swift to sing at his engagement party and i’m not having an engagement party if it means TS won’t be singing there,” another person added.
“I’m literally never shutting up about Taylor swift singing king of my heart acoustically I’m sorry in advance,” a tweet said.
Somebody else wrote, “Taylor was so sweet to sing king of my heart at an engagement party. And, she looks like RED era Swift.”
