Entertainment News: Love and Family

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas are parents! They announced their bundle of joy on Instagram on Friday. The baby was brown via a surrogate and the superstar couple could not be more thrilled. There is no word yet on the baby’s name.

Pamela Anderson is back on the market. Her marriage to Don Hayhurst is over after a mere one year of not-so wedded bliss. This will be Anderson’s sixth divorce.

Off the market are Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader. The couple has been dating under the radar since last year and are finally taking their love story public.

Country music sweethearts Taylor Dye and Josh Kerr welcomed their first baby this week. The Maddie & Tae bandmates are now the proud parents of a daughter, Leighton Grace Kerr who was born on January 17th.

Speaking of babies, Luke and Nicole Combs are expecting their first child. The couple proudly announced the pregnancy. The country star is over the moon and ready for fatherhood.

Charitable Actions

January 17th marked the late Betty White’s birthday and became a huge donation day around the world. Fans opened their wallets for animal charities and hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised. The Los Angeles Zoo alone received over 70k.

Speaking of charitable hearts, Cardi B stepped up in a big way for the Bronx fire victims. She pledged to help cover funeral expenses for the 17 people who did not survive the blaze on January 9th. Her efforts will be pooled with the Bronx Fire Relief Fund to help the grieving and displaced families.

Crime and Punishment

Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham was back in the spotlight and not in a good way. She was arrested after a scuffle with a Los Angeles restaurant security guard. She faces battery charges over the incident.

NFL star Dak Prescott landed in hot water after throwing trash at a ref during the Cowboys’ vs 49ers game on January 16. His tantrum will cost him $25k in fines.

Entertainment News: Illness and Injury

Adele’s Las Vegas residency is off the table, for now. The megastar canceled her 24 show run – set to begin this weekend, due to a covid outbreak within her team. She took to social media to announce the delay with plans to reschedule sometime in the future.

Dancing With the Stars Tour professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev is stepping away from the show citing health issues. He is hoping to rejoin the tour after he recovers.

Martha Stewart shocked fans this week with some electric news. She opened up on The Ellen DeGeneres Show about being struck by lightning a whopping three times. Watch the video here.

Celebrity Scandals

Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller is suing the Hampton Inn for millions of dollars in damages. The reality TV personality suffered injuries after her wheelchair was caught on a bathroom stall causing the 300 lbs door to fall on her.

The Spears family made headline after headline all week as a feud between sisters Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears took several public and ugly turns. Britney took such issue with Jamie Lynn’s “lies” about her that her lawyer issued a cease and desist.

Jamie Lynn wasn’t the only family member Britney rose up against. Her legal team also took on father Jamie Spears in court for the pop star’s medical records. Britney wants them unsealed and fully available. Jamie hit back asking for more money to cover his own legal costs.

Casting About

Weird Al Yankovic is getting a biopic with Daniel Radcliffe stepping up to play the comedic musician. The Al Yankovic Story is already in the works written by the funny man himself and director Eric Appel.

Ellen Degeneres faced another cancellation this week. Her Game of Games show will be going off the air after four seasons.

The iconic movie A Christmas Story is finally getting a sequel nearly 40 years after the original. The movie will feature Peter Billingsley back in his old as Ralfie, he will also serve as the director. A Christmas Story Christmas will begin taping in February.

King of the Hill fans rejoice! The Hill family is coming back as the legendary cartoon is getting revived. Mike Judge and Greg Daniels are returning as the show creator. There is no word on which voice actors will be checking back in.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

The music world lost a legend on January 20 with the death of the iconic rocker Meat Loaf. The Grammy-winning artist’s death was announced by his family on social media. He was 74 years old. Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell album remains one of the top ten selling albums of all time.

Fashion icon Andre Leon Talley died on January 18. Andre was a trailblazer in the world of high fashion and pushed for inclusivity on the runway. Not only was he the creative director for Vogue for almost a decade, but he also become a household name for his time on America’s Next Top Model. Andre was 74 years old.

Actress Yvette Mimieux passed on Tuesday at 80 years old. She rose to fame in the 1960s as a silver screen sweetheart for her role in The Time Machine and Light in the Piazza. Her career went on to span decades ending in the early 1990s.

French actor, Gaspard Ulliel suffered a fatal ski accident on January 19th. The 37-year-old Cesar-winning star was skiing in the Savoir region where he fatally collided with another skier. He passed from a traumatic brain injury.

A rep for Louie Anderson announced the comedian was hospitalized during his battle with Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma on Tuesday. His fight came to an end on January 21 when he succumbed to the illness. He was 68 years old.

Brazilian superstar Elza Soares passed away at 91 years old on Friday. The award-winning musician rose to worldwide fame as a samba music icon. She is considered one of the greatest artists of her generation.

Hollywood star Hardy Kruger passed on January 19th. The Academy award-winning actor also took home three Lifetime Achievement awards in Germany. He was best known for his roles in Light of the Phoenix and A Bridge Too Far. He was 93 years old.

Actress Regina King is in mourning after the loss of her son. Ian Alexander Jr. died by suicide just days after his 26th birthday on Wednesday. Ian was King’s only child, whom she shares with ex-husband Ian Alexander Sr.
