Smallville’s Allison Mack Pleads Guilty In Sex Trafficking Case

Allison Mack, who played Clarke’s unrequited love on Smallville, was facing some serious charges in a case involving a cult accused of sex trafficking. And, now, there’s been a big development in the matter!

According to People, Mack has entered a guilty plea related to charges over her involvement with a self-help organization described as having within it “slaves and masters.” The specific charges Mack has pled guilty to racketeering conspiracy and racketeering.

The district attorney’s office accused Mack of recruiting sex slaves for Keith Raniere. He is the co-founder of self-help group Nxivm and subgroup DOS. The organization has been described as group comprised of all women who allegedly were forced to become sexually submissive to Raniere.

Mack pled guilty just as her trial was about to begin. She was looking at least 15 years in prison if convicted.

On Smallville, Mack’s Chloe often served the story by providing necessary information for Clark (Tom Welling) to save the day. Chloe was the editor of the Smallville high school paper, then as a reporter at the Daily Planet before managing a foundation, that sought to aid people affected by the meteors that showered Earth with Kryptonite.

Catherine Oxenberg, who played Amanda in the original Dynasty, saw daughter, India Oxenberg, involved with Nxivm in 2011. “Allison Mack’s life is in ruins and I can’t help but feel sadness for her,” Oxenberg said in a statement to People. “At the same time, she had to be stopped. What she participated in was dangerous and criminal.”

According to the New York Times, Mack was sobbing when she read the following statement in court: “I must take full responsibility for my conduct.” After composing herself, Mack apologized to people she felt have been victimized by Nxvim.

Mack will be sentenced in September. Each count carries with it the potential for up to 20 years in prison.
