Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar shared a memorable kiss in the 1999 film Cruel Intentions on-screen. Today, they share a strong friendship as followers of their social media accounts can attest to!
Recently, Gellar and Blair got together. Gellar’s been a great source of support for Blair since her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis last year. “I can’t show how good it feels to have my friends come and bring lunch and news of the world,” Blair posted. “So I will just share the standard happy selfies. With love. Who knew this #cruelintentions trio would be forever? #lucky #best #scarah @sarahmgellar 💛 @rogerkumble And yes. This sweatshirt is washed regularly. @hopeheals.”
For her part, Gellar posted some pictures from their gathering as well — and she included a special behind-the-scenes tidbit that diehard fans of the movie would probably enjoy knowing — and it explains a particular hashtag above.
“No cruel intentions here. Little known fact- since the day we met @selmablair has called me Scarah-@rogerkumble I blame you,” Gellar wrote. Kumble, who directed the film, had his own take on the reunion.
“First day at my new job as Sugarfish Postmates Delivery-boy and look who I run into!!! @selmablair & @sarahmgellar! I tried to get them to kiss, then they kicked me out with no tip!”
Roger Kumble directed the film that dealt with two nasty step-siblings Kathryn and Sebastian (Gellar and Ryan Phillippe) who attempt to take the virginity of their new school headmaster’s daughter, Annette (Reese Witherspoon), before the next term starts.
Gellar and Blair’s characters, Kathryn and Cecile, locked lips in the film and the smooch won Best Kiss at the 2000 MTV Movie and TV Awards.
