Yesterday, Kristofer Hivju, who played Tormund Giantsbane, Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) best Wilding pal, announced that he tested positive and now comes the word that Indira Varma, who played Ellaria Sand, has also come down with coronavirus and shares what it’s like.
Former Game of Thrones Stars Test Positive
Varma, who has worked steadily since leaving the hit HBO show, was currently performing in The Seagull at the Playhouse Theatre in London, alongside former Thrones co-star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys), when production had to be closed down due to coronavirus — which the actress revealed she had contracted.
“So sad our and so many other shows around the world have gone dark affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to be back soon and urge you all (and the govt) to support us when we do. Phoenix/ Seagull rising from the ashes. I’m in bed with it and it’s not nice. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your fellow people.❤️💜❤️”
Originally, the play was supposed to run from March 11 through May 20. There is no word on whether or not the virus has also struck Clarke. She hasn’t posted to her Instagram account since February 24.
Something Wilding
Kristofer Hivju announced yesterday on his Instagram his positive status writing, “Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My [family] and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold.
“There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading,” shared the former Game of Thrones actor.
Entertainment Hub wishes both actors a very speedy recovery.
