“Be prepared for lots of doggie spam from me because they are beyond cute (and also because I won’t be going anywhere for awhile) 🐶 #akita #akitasofinstagram,” Gellar adds.
In 1991, she played a young Jacqueline Bouvier in A Woman Named Jackie, a TV miniseries. The actress first came to the attention of soap fans when she was cast as Kendall Hart, the daughter of Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane on All My Children, in 1993. After playing the role for a few years, Gellar exited the daytime drama, winning a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in a Drama Series around the time of her departure.
Gellar gained a whole new audience when she was cast in the title role of The WB series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The actress returned to series television in 2011 in The CW series The Ringer in which she played twins Bridget Kelly and Siobhan Martin. Gellar did a cameo on AMC in the summer of 2011 as the show was wrapping up its 41-year-run. More recently, she appeared in The Crazy Ones, a TV sitcom starring the late Robin Williams. Her next project is the miniseries Masters of the Universe: Revelation as Teela.
In real-life, Sarah Michelle Gellar wed actor Freddie Prinz, Jr. in 2002. Gellar and Prinze have appeared together in I Know What You Did Last Summer, She’s All That, Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, Happily N’Ever After, and Robot Chicken: Operation Rich in Spirit.
