Sansa’s Relationship With Jon ‘Is Struggling’ in Game of Thrones Season 8

Get ready people, we are only a few days away from the start of Season 8 of Game of Thrones! While every fan has their own theory about what’s going to happen to all the characters, the reality is no one has any idea what’s going to happen.

However, we do know the first episode focuses on Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) coming to Winterfell where she meets Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) family for the first time.

Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), who is currently the Lady of Winterfell, will have to host Daenerys and Jon for the first time. As fans remember, Jon pledged his loyalty to Dany in her quest to be the queen of the seven kingdoms, which will probably cause some problems.

Despite all the Westeros drama, Turner opened up to Entertainment Weekly about Sansa’s journey this season and what fans can expect from her character.

“Sansa this season is very much enjoying becoming a leader in her own right and the leader of Winterfell, and this year there are certain challenges of people who come into her life that threaten that. She has to go behind a few backs and risks tearing apart her family,” she shared.

Not to mention, Sansa is not going to welcome Daenerys into Winterfell with open arms, so there’s going to be some family tension.

“Her relationship with Jon is struggling because he’s so clearly in love with Daenerys and believes in her completely. Sansa thinks she’s power-hungry and not the rightful queen. There’s a huge amount of fighting between Sansa and Jon,” Turner continued.

Will Jon stay loyal to Daenerys or will he decide to regain his family’s trust? And where will Arya (Maisie Williams), always the Stark wildcard in just about every situation, fall in this growing power struggle between her siblings? Guess we’ll find out when the show premieres Sunday, April 14 on HBO!
