On October 3, romance radio host Delilah reported that she had lost her dear son Zachariah to suicide.
The teen died on Tuesday in the early morning hours, having been “treated, counseled and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now,” said Delilah Rene on Facebook on Saturday.
The 53-year-old radio personality continued, “My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on.”
As a result, the popular host will take a leave of absence from her inspirational syndicated program that airs weeknights on 106.7 in New York City.
Delilah, a 2016 nominee for the Radio Hall of Fame, clarified, “I will be absent from the radio and on social media for a time as I grieve and try to process this loss with my family. In the meantime, we’ll be playing some of my favorite shows from the recent past. I’ll look forward to my return, as you all lift me up so very much!”
For those suffering depression or other matters that appear hopeless, Delilah supplied this number: 800-273-8255. It rings through to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
