Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for over 35 years, so it’s no surprise that they are one of the most beloved celebrity couples. Their longevity has been inspiring.
After working together many years ago, they have established a great life for themselves and have also raised some pretty talented actors! From how they first met to why they never got married, here are five fast facts you need to know about the couple.
How Did Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell Meet?
Hawn and Russell first met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band back in 1968. Though they connected, Hawn didn’t pursue anything because of their age difference at the time — she was 21 and he was just 16.
Age Is Just A Number…Eventually
Nearly 15 years later, Hawn and Russell connected again when they worked on Swing Shift together in 1983. Kurt had just gotten divorced from Season Hubley, while Hawn was divorced from her husband, Bill Hudson, but they immediately fell in love.
Love Interests On-And-Off Screen
A few years into their relationship, Hawn and Russell teamed up again to star in Garry Marshall’s romantic comedy, Overboard, in 1987. This was the first time the pair worked together as an established couple. Despite the film not doing well at the box office, it has become a cult classic and is even getting the reboot treatment.
Never Tied the Knot
Despite being together for nearly 40 years, Hawn and Russell have never gotten married. Hawn revealed in a recent interview that she believes she and Russell would be divorced if they got married. She believes marriage would’ve put psychological pressure on them as a couple and is happy they never went down that path.
Yours, Mine, and Ours
Hawn and Russell both had children before they fell in love. Russell had a son named Boston with his first wife and Hawn had Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson with her second husband. She and Russell then had one child together, son Wyatt Russell.
