They reportedly met during a pre-interview dinner that was organized by The Tonight Show, as they were both going to be guests. The two stars got to talking during the dinner and their romance progressed from there.

Making It Official
After meeting, Leoni and Duchovny were not shy about showing off their romance to the world. The couple was spotted holding hands at grocery stores and attended red carpet events together after going public.

The Wedding
After just eight weeks together, the couple decided to marry. They wed on May 13, 1997, inside the Grace Church School in New York City. The ceremony was so private that it was only attended by the couple’s close friends and family while the actor’s brother, Daniel Duchovny, served as the best man.

Starting a Family

Almost two years later, the couple welcomed their first child together — daughter Madelaine West — on April 24, 1999. They then had their second child, Kyd Miller, on June 15, 2002. They lived on the Upper East Side in New York City.

Parting Ways
The couple announced their separation on October 15, 2008, and confirmed that Duchovny had spent time at a rehab facility to address his sexual addiction. However, the couple reconciled shortly after making the announcement, but they separated again in June of 2011. Duchovny eventually filed for divorce in June of 2014.
