How Did Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid Meet?

Wedding
After about two years of dating, Quaid and Ryan chose the most romantic day of the year to marry — Valentine’s Day in 1991. Despite being the stars in a huge celebrity romance, these two were able to keep the details of their wedding fairly private.

Starting a Family

Just a little over a year after getting married, they welcomed their first child together. Their son Jack was born on April 24, 1992. He has followed in his parents’ footsteps and is an actor himself, having appeared in films such as The Hunger Games and Logan Lucky.

Parting Ways
Ryan and Quaid announced their separation on June 28, 2000, though they had privately been separated for weeks by that point. Their divorce was then finalized on July 16, 2001. Rumors were swirling that their split had to do with Ryan’s reported relationship with her Proof of Life co-star Russell Crowe, which she has denied, while Quaid was also accused of repeatedly cheating on his wife. The two remain on friendly terms.
