They say to never fall in love with your co-stars, but that’s exactly what Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan did nearly 15 years ago. The couple met on the set of a movie, but their relationship lasted long after the film wrapped.

How Did Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Meet?
Tatum and Dewan met in late 2005, early 2006 on the set of their movie, Step Up. They were cast as the two leads and had chemistry from the start. Though Tatum was a bit reluctant to ask Dewan out, as he had just gotten out of a relationship, he knew he wanted to be with her for a long time. Then, by the time the film premiered in August 2006, they were officially a couple.
Engagement
After a couple of years of dating, Tatum popped the question in September 2008 in gorgeous Maui. In fact, the actor reportedly asked her to marry him in front of their friends who were secretly watching the proposal. Dewan had absolutely no idea and was given a stunning Neil Lane sparkler.
Wedding
Less than a year after they got engaged, the couple married in Malibu, California in July 2009. Their wedding theme was ‘outdoor fairytale’ and the ceremony was held on a private estate. Dewan wore a princess gown and the flower girls walked down the aisle wearing wings.

Guests were given crystals as wedding gifts and the cake was shaped like a magic castle. A few of the couple’s celebrity friends were involved in the wedding as well, including actress Emmanuelle Chriqui, who was the maid of honor, and Haylie Duff, who was a bridesmaid.
Having A Baby
After enjoying life as newlyweds, Tatum and Dewan decided to start their family and announced the pregnancy in December 2012. They welcomed their daughter, Everly, on May 31, 2013. The couple announced her birth on Tatum’s website a few days later with a sweet photo of the family of three.
Parting Ways
Tatum and Dewan announced their split in April 2018 after nine years of marriage. It was then revealed that they had been separated for months and had started to grow apart over the course of the past year. The pair officially filed for divorce about six months later.
