It’s almost been a year since Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan announced their separation and shocked the world.
While they seemed like the perfect couple, their nine-year marriage was officially ending.
But, despite calling it quits, the pair vowed to stay close for the sake of their daughter, 5-year-old Everly.
Though they have made an effort to work things out between them, a source recently told Us Weekly that “it’s been challenging and emotional.”
Not to mention, though he and Jenna are getting along for the sake of their daughter, “there are certain hurdles that they face.”
In fact, the Magic Mike actor just filed court documents to establish a joint custody agreement on January 25.
In the court documents, the father of one explains how he and Everly love to rock climb and swim together.
He even mentions that he decorated a room for her in his rental house with a fairytale theme, just to make her feel comfortable.

But, despite trying to not rock the boat, Channing feels as if they need a plan in place.
“In my opinion and experience, Everly has appeared to adjust to our separation and living in two homes exceptionally well,” Channing said in court documents.
“I believe that she will thrive even more with structure and consistency because she is happy and more relaxed when she knows a plan.”
Jenna and Channing met on the set of Step Up in 2006 and tied the knot in 2009.
Meanwhile, little Everly just celebrated her 5th birthday! Jenna shared a sweet photo of her little girl on Instagram.
“Some days you’re just blown away by how fast it goes. Blink and she’s 5, writing herself about wanting to be a princess fairy. Dear Evie, you make it all worth it. Parents — any ideas on how to stop time??” she captioned the photo.
