First Joy Behar, then Whoopi Goldberg. Now, another panelist, of The View, Meghan McCain, is going to be leaving the table because of the very real fear of contracting the coronavirus. Despite being younger and more healthy than her co-hosts, McCain has a very good reason.
Meghan McCain Reveals Pregnancy
Meghan McCain posted on social media that she, like Goldberg, is going to be doing her panelist role from her own home in light of some personal news — she and her husband Ben Domenech are expecting their first child together.
“My husband Ben and I have been blessed to find out I’m pregnant,” McCain posted. “Although this isn’t how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share this news with you all.
“I consulted with my doctors and they advised me for the safety of our baby and myself, I should be extra vigilant about limiting the number of people we come in contact with. Starting immediately, I’ll be joining the millions of Americas who are self-isolating as a precaution to protect the spread of COVID-19. As a result, I will be appearing on ‘The View’ from home via satellite.
“I’m fortunate that my employer, ABC, has allowed me and my co-hosts to work remotely. I am indebted to our producers and crew. I also want to acknowledge the heroes — the doctors, nurses and grocery and pharmacy workers, journalists, police officers, firemen and military — who are on the frontlines of this fight.
It is understandable McCain would want to take every precaution. In July of 2019, she revealed that she’d had a miscarriage in an op-ed she wrote in The New York Times, saying, “My miscarriage was a horrendous experience and I would not wish it upon anyone,” she wrote. “I loved my baby, and I always will.”
“Please stay safe,” she added to her current Instagram post. “Wash your hands and avoid public gatherings and I will continue to see you each morning on ‘The View.’ Love, Meghan.”
View panelist Sunny Hostin posted her well wishes on McCain’s post with a simple, but exclamatory: “Congratulations!!!!”
Chrishell Stause (Netflix’s Selling Sunset; ex-Jordan, Days of our Lives) also commented, “Awww sending you SO much love Meghan. This will pass and you will have a happy healthy baby. Praying for your family and the one on the way. Congrats!! 💗🙏🏼.”
Entertainment Hub wishes Meghan McCain and her husband all the best. The View airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
