Peter Dinklage Correctly Predicted Tyrion’s Game of Thrones Season 8 Fate

Peter Dinklage is a great predictor because The Game of Thrones star, who plays Tyrion Lannister, actually correctly guessed the fate of his character for the eighth and final season.

Though many other stars didn’t know what would happen, Dinklage had a feeling he knew how it would end for him. In fact, while reading the final scripts for Season 8, Dinklage made sure to not skip to the end. He wanted to enjoy the story and find out his fate at the right time.

“This is the first time ever that I didn’t skip to the end. Why? I was probably terrified. We all feel we’re the leads of our own show. As the seasons have gone on, we’ve all thought how it’s going to end. Who’s going to be alive?

“If you die, how do you die? Ten years we’ve been doing this and it can drive you mad because [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] don’t tell us and sometimes they change their mind,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

“But I love how it ended up. And how it ends up for everybody. They had a beautiful gentle touch with some and a hard touch with others.”

At the beginning of Season 8, Tyrion does his best to keep the peace between Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), which isn’t easy since he has a long history with both women.

In fact, Tyrion was married to Sansa when she was only a 14-year-old girl — but she has been through so much since then and now she is very much a smart woman who can hold her own with the best of them. It’s understandable that she would clash with Dany for power and influence over Jon (Kit Harington).

“He’s definitely a diplomat. … Obviously, Daenerys and her dragons are nitroglycerine. He knows she’s going to make the world a better place yet he also understands her passion,” he shared.

“And where we left off is with the biggest threat of all, the [Army of the Dead], for somebody like Tyrion he’s not going to be able to negotiate with them. He’s not a fighter. He can’t talk them into peace.”

So how will things end up for Tyrion? Season 8 of Game of Thrones begins this coming Sunday, April 14 — guess we’ll all have to tune in to find out.
