A recent article in Vanity Fair about CBS firing Peter Lenkov — who helmed the reboots of Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I., and MacGyver for the eye network — for his alleged toxic abuse of his cast and crew got Pauley Perrette recalling similar treatment she alleges she experienced on another CBS juggernaut — NCIS.
Pauley Perrette Calls Out NCIS
In a Tweetstorm (the only social media platform the actress engages in) on Monday night and the wee hours of Tuesday morning, the stunning star reiterated some allegations that she had shared in the past, but she seemed to go even further this time, calling out even more bad behavior so as to not leave any question in people’s minds.
“Great reporting @VanityFair I’ve known about his abuse a long time. Some words were EXACTLY what I and SO MANY went to @CBS #HR about THAT OTHER GUY’S abuse for over a decade y’all STILL support him on my old show. Oh, yeah #MoneyOverMorals as usual,” she wrote alongside a link to the Vanity Fair article. But she was far from done.
“Or as the brilliant small wonder @THEsaragilbert said to me when I told her ‘But @CBS said publicly my story was true’ She said with wise steely-eyed precision looking up into my tall giraffe naivety “SO? Why is he still there? And you’re not” I had no answer. He’s still there.
“And there are things SO RACIST and SO MISOGYNISTIC and SO HOMOPHOBIC and cruel that were said on set at that show that I have never spoken of because the language is SO HURTFUL. And y’all wondered why I quit? Those producers are still there. All of them. Including HIM,” she wrote, stopping short of saying his name, but she would eventually use his initials.
“And good guy @LucasTill [from MacGyver] a beautiful truthful human, I too went to @CBS told about abuse by MH on set and I was asked THREE TIMES ‘are you asking for money?’ I was like ‘Huh? No!’ And I did NOT! I wanted me and my crew to be safe from him. I should’ve and given it to his other victims,” she wrote.
This isn’t the first time the actress has called out longtime NCIS star/executive producer Mark Harmon (Gibbs) for his treatment and how she wanted to protect her crew. Harmon has remained mum on the subject.
