Starz is giving Outlander fans a Valentine’s Day gift. Subscribers to Starz and users of the Star app and Starz On Demand get to see the Season 5 premiere of Outlander starting today, a little earlier than announced.

Outlander Season 5 has Jamie and Clare Fraser (Sam Hueghen and Caitriona Balfe) fighting for the family home they’ve made on Fraser’s Ridge. Watch for Claire to tap into her advanced medical expertise to keep her loved ones from being separated.
“This season especially, Jamie has his extended family,” Hueghen said at an Outlander press panel in January. “He’s built a home that he loves, and he has the woman that he loves and his family, his children, his great-grandchildren. So for him, things on the surface definitely look pretty good.”
“They’ve created this homestead, this community,” Balfe notes. “[Claire’s] life is very full, and she also has her surgery. So she gets to fulfill that sort of professional side of herself, as well as the maternal and the lover/wife. Obviously there’s a lot of external forces that cause issues and as the season goes on, things get quite rough for them.”

What To Expect
Viewers may see fewer of Hueghen’s prosthetic scars this season. “As time has passed, the wounds have healed a lot more, the scarring has gone down,” says the actor, who hastens to add that the marks will always be there on some level. “He shares his experiences on his body.”
The series continues to have one of television’s most loyal and devout fan bases. Hueghen noted that some had come to the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, CA, where the press conference for the show was held. “They’ve found out that we’re here so they booked in and they’re waiting all over just to partake in some fabulous whiskey.”
“The fans are amazing,” adds Balfe. “It’s a testament to the fact that we’re still here five seasons in, that they’re still as passionate and they’re still as hungry for our show.” Fans who have the Starz App can check out the show now. The rest of the audience can tune into Starz on Sunday, February 16 at 8 p.m. ET for the Season 5 premiere.
