Melissa Gilbert’s long-awaited return is here. In the Saturday, February 8 episode of When Calls the Heart, she will finally visit Hope Valley. She will also come across an old crush.
Teasing WCTH Debut
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gilbert revealed her role as Georgie McGill, a forensic investigator who works with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Her work brings her to Hope Valley, where she meets her old friend, Bill (Jack Wagner). Hearties will learn more about their connection.
“You find out that we had a history together. We went to school together. It’s revealed gradually over the first episode that I had a pretty intense crush on him, and I assumed he didn’t even know I existed — but the feeling was mutual,” Gilbert explained. “The question is now, in this investigation and working together, are we going to fall in love? Are we going to have a romance?”
Gilbert looks forward to seeing where Georgie and Bill’s relationship left off. However, she only joined the Hallmark drama for two episodes. Gilbert expressed an interest in returning to the show at some point. “I would love to see what happens with Bill and Georgie going forward because it is left as a romantic cliffhanger — will-they, won’t-they? Are they, aren’t they?” Gilbert explained.
Hopefully, it won’t take another 12 seasons to make it happen. Gilbert loves that the show focuses on a potential romance between two older people. “Just because you’re over 60 doesn’t mean you’re dead,” the Little House on the Prairie alum said.
Schedule Shakeup
The sixth episode of WCTH Season 12 is titled “When Autumn Leaves Begin To Fall.” Also, in the episode, Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) battles a cold. Meanwhile, Allie and Oliver will come across a threat. Rosemary will invite the kids to debate Lucas (Kevin McGarry) on the radio.
Hearties all over are planning a Super Saturday event since WCTH airs after the movie premiere, The Wish Swap. Pascale Hutton stars in this rom-com. Check out the details of this pre-Super Bowl event for yourself here.
