Erin Krakow revealed why she was nervous during her chemistry read with Kevin McGarry.
Erin Krakow was made for the role of Elizabeth on When Calls the Heart. However, during her chemistry read with co-star Kevin McGarry, she was “trembling” with fear.
New details have surfaced from the Hallmark Christmas Experience in Kansas City in December. Some of your favorites from WCTH were there in person. One of the most touching moments during one panel was between Erin and Kevin. The two talked about their apparent chemistry on the Hallmark series.
Working together helped them form a bond. Krakow also revealed how Kevin helped her calm her fears. The show’s plot twist made her feel “so fearful.” She was literally “trembling” during their chemistry read, reported Entertainment Now.
During the panel, Kevin gushed about Erin. He called her “grounded and friendly.” He felt “very lucky” to be in her presence. Erin felt the same way about her co-star. She recalled their chemistry read as the characters of Elizabeth and Nathan.
“He was the first person I read with, and … I was really nervous. I was trembling,” Erin explained. “I was so fearful of this whole situation, and I told him that.”
Kevin assured her that she would do great. At that moment, Erin learned how comforting it was to have him around. “I love working with you. You’re such a great actor, and you elevate my game,” Erin gushed.
Erin was nervous for a good reason. Jack (Daniel Lissing) died in an accident. Hearties were outraged at the time. Daniel almost got replaced, but it would’ve been hard to duplicate Jack and Elizabeth’s chemistry.
Instead, they focused on pairing up Elizabeth with Nathan. In Season 12, the two are finally exploring their relationship. Also, this season, Elizabeth will seek closure with Jack’s death. (Find out a potential death plot twist that could turn the show upside down.)
