Kyle Richards isn’t in a hurry to file the divorce papers. There’s a good reason. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is still navigating her separation from her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.

Complicated Divorce

Richards and Umansky remained amicable about their separation. They get along better while separated than they did when they were married. Richards hasn’t filed the divorce papers. On the Bravo show, she shared her struggles with their separation. Richards hasn’t gotten used to being on her own.

It’s been 18 months since they announced their separation. An insider told The U.S. Sun that Richards and Umansky aren’t divorced yet because the exes aren’t rushing to file the papers. They know there’s going to be more paperwork involved. The duo has a lot of finances involved, especially with the real estate business.

“They’re not in a hurry to file, but when they inevitably do, it will be a nightmare to divide up assets, stakes in The Agency, and a lot of other things they both went all into together,” the source shared. Richards said on the show that they don’t have a prenuptial agreement. The former couple had “nothing” to their name when they married in 1994. The Beverly Hills lifestyle wasn’t given to them. Umansky worked hard to provide for his family.

Friendly Exes

Richards and Umansky’s separation continues on Season 14 of RHOBH. In a recent episode, Umansky took Richards to a gun range so she could defend herself. The two had an emotional conversation afterward, and Richards broke down as Umansky embraced her.

RHOBH fans have shared mixed reactions to their separation. They feel like they witnessed their TV mother and father break up. Most are sad to see the two go their separate ways, while others call their interaction “awkward.” The insider told The U.S. Sun that there’s no chance for reconciliation.

“Kyle and Mau are in as good of a place as they can be right now. It’s still hard for Kyle, but she’s getting through it,” the source shared. “I think they are past the point of every reconciling.” The insider added that the “ship has sailed.” Umansky and Richards have remained amicable throughout their separation. They still travel to their vacation home in Denver with their family.
