Here’s Why Dorit Kemsley Was Caught Smoking During RHOBH Season 14 Premiere

Dorit Kemsley is normally the type of woman who keeps up with appearances. But she has a whole new attitude in Season 14. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered on Tuesday, November 19. Most of the episode focused on Dorit’s separation from her husband, PK. Little did she know that she would soon become a viral sensation. 

Life’s a Drag

At one point, Kemsley was caught smoking while driving. She lit a cigarette as the news of her separation made headlines. Clearly, Dorit was under the stress and pressure that comes with being in the spotlight. Yet she didn’t care if the cameras caught her on a smoke break.

That scene immediately went viral on social media. RHOBH fans reposted the scene with their own snarky jokes and captions. Dorit addressed the viral moment on Watch What Happens Live, reports Us Weekly.

Host Andy Cohen had to mention it. Understandably, viewers were shocked to learn that Dorit smokes. He mentioned that this was “the first time” that Dorit was seen smoking on the Bravo show. Dorit sat there as she played with her hair. 

Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent was the other guest of the night. She called it an “iconic scene.” She loved seeing Dorit “flying down the canyon in the G Wagon” with a cigarette butt out of her mouth. Lala added, “The Canyon’s no joke; I’m impressed.” 

Smoking & Driving

Dorit explained why she had a cigarette at that moment. “I was actually being chased by paparazzi,” she said. Her mind started to panic. So, the first thing she did was reach for a cigarette. 

During the Tuesday premiere of RHOBH, Dorit shared the details of her split from PK. They announced on May 9 that they were separating after nine years of marriage. Dorit noted several small problems leading up to that decision.

She also revealed that PK was an alcoholic who’s currently in recovery. (Lisa Rinna Made Harsh Accusations About Kemsley In The Past.) In the episode, both PK and Dorit reveal that they have chosen not to share the news with their children.
