9-1-1 fans are concerned about Maddie, Eddy, and Athena. New questions have been raised before the show’s midseason premiere.
Maddie Never Gets Peace
In the March midseason premiere, Maddie’s (Jennifer Love Hewitt) killer returns. There hasn’t been a moment when this character hasn’t experienced peace. Maddie has gone through so much—domestic violence, post-partum depression, and relationship challenges. TV Insider unveiled the trailer for the midseason premiere, and it’s intense.
In the November 2024 season finale, Maddie revealed to Chimney (Kenneth Choi) that she’s pregnant. The teaser revealed that she’s in trouble once again. Athena (Angela Bassett) is informed about a hostage situation. She tells Bobby (Peter Krause) that “something’s not right,” to which he responds, “Almost nothing is right about it.” The two find out that the serial killer who’s on the run has Maddie. This has fans wondering whether the show will kill off Maddie, who’s been part of the medical drama since Season 2.
What’s Next For Eddie?
Also, in the fall 2024 season finale, Eddie (Ryan Guzman) shared a jaw-dropping truth. He revealed that he wanted to move to Texas to be closer to his son, who is staying with his grandparents. Buck (Oliver Stark) discovers that Eddie is looking at homes down south. This reveal gobsmacked him since he’s been heartbroken over his breakup with Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.). Does this mean that Guzman could be leaving the show as well?
What About Officer Athena Grant?
Athena’s fate has also been explored. Some fans wonder if she will retire from her role as a seasoned LAPD officer. In Season 8, Athena injured her leg after going on a high-stakes chase, which affected her ability to patrol the streets. DAYS alum Zach Tinker guest-starred during the episode.
Her home was also destroyed in the fire, which left her and her husband, Bobby, wondering where to move next. Where does this leave Athena? Maybe she’ll find get a high-ranking position. She’s taken on many challenges, from chasing most-wanted criminals to landing a plane in an emergency. Athena is long overdue for a promotion. Maybe she’ll finally get the recognition she deserves in the midseason premiere.
