Western Entertainment Series Television (WEST) will launch on Monday, September 29. The network, which is broadcast’s answer to the INSP cable channel, will be the home of more than 30 classic TV westerns.

WEST is brought to viewers by Weigel Broadcasting, the same company behind MeTV, Heroes & Icons, and Catchy Comedy. Here’s what fans of westerns need to know about the new network dedicated to stories about gunslingers, outlaws, and do-good sheriffs.

Westerns On The WEST Network

WEST’s programming, which will run 24/7, will consist of well-beloved and iconic westerns. Fans of James Arness’ upstanding US Marshal Matt Dillon, Dan Blocker’s friendly Hoss Cartwright, and James Garner’s rambling poker player Bret Maverick are the target audience of this channel.

The network intends to set itself apart by providing viewers with the ability to enjoy the art of the TV western in a way no other broadcaster can. An example of this mission is their presentation of The Virginian, which will be in its original full-length format instead of being edited for time.

The channel’s primetime weeknight lineup will spotlight the most famous television westerns. The weekends will feature extended blocks of western favorites airing all day.

Titles on WEST include:

  • The Big Valley
  • Bonanza
  • Bronco
  • Cheyenne
  • Colt. 45
  • Daniel Boone
  • Gunsmoke
  • Have Gun, Will Travel
  • The High Chaparral
  • Lancer
  • Maverick
  • Rawhide
  • Sugarfoot
  • Wagon Train
  • Wanted: Dead or Alive
  • Wild Wild West

How To Watch The WEST Network

On launch day, WEST will be available in 15 out of the Top 20 broadcast TV markets and 46 TV markets nationwide. This includes Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, New York, Tampa, Phoenix, Detroit, Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, and Orlando. The full list of stations can be found on the network’s website.
