Colin Kaepernick and Nessa Diab announced their first baby this week. The couple welcomed their child a few weeks ago but decided to keep the news to themselves for a little while. As of this publication, there has been no announcement on a name or gender.
September 1st marked Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze’s 20th wedding anniversary. The happy couple shared a sweet but simple post on her Instagram to commemorate the day.

Gloria Estefan is officially a Barbie girl in the Barbie world! The famed singer joined the Mattel family in honor of her 65th birthday.
Illness and Injury
Eugenio Derbez is recovering well after a successful surgery. The actor was in an accident last month. His wife has kept the media up to date on his progress and said he has quite a long road to a full recovery.
Entertainment News: Celebrity Scandals & Hot Topics
This week allegations against Arcade Fire’s Win Butler came to light. The singer was accused of sexual misconduct by three women – one being only 18 years old at the time.
Monkee’s star Micky Dolenz is taking on the justice department. He is suing for files the FBI collected and retained about himself and his former bandmates. People magazine has the full story.
Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are being taken to court with allegations they groomed and molested a child. While the couple calls this a shakedown, two siblings claim to be telling the truth. They say the grooming began when they were just 7 and 14 years old.
Country singer Jason Aldean is looking for a new PR firm after being dropped by his current company. This comes after his wife made transphobic comments online.
Anne Heche’s son Homer Laffoon is stepping up when it comes to his mother’s estate. He’s asking for control and to be named administrator. Anne did not leave behind a will.
Casting & Changes
Chicago PD will look a little different very soon with Jesse Lee Soffer leaving the show. His character Halstead will exit the show during season 10.
Michael Fishman is not returning to the upcoming season of The Conners. He says the news came as a shock when he was told he was not coming back to resume his role as DJ Conner.
Lindsay Arnold is leaving Dancing With the Stars. The pro dancer says her departure is one of the hardest decisions of her career. She has been a mainstay performer for the last ten years.
More shake-ups were announced for Saturday Night Live. Melissa Vallaseñor, Alex Moffat, and Aristotle Athari are not coming back for season 48.
Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne are making a return to television. Their new show will document their homecoming to Britain. ‘Home to Roost’ is set to air on BBC One in 2023.
Entertainment News: In Memoriam
Former Soviet Union President Mikhail Gorbachev passed away at 91. Although the former leader won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990 for his part in ending the Cold War and was held in high regard in the West, Gorbachev remained a controversial figure amongst his own countrymen. Putin has denied Gorbachev a formal state funeral.
Country singer Luke Bell’s body was found on August 30th. This comes after he went missing on August 20th. It is suspected his mental health played a big part in his death. He was 32 years old.
August 30th also marked the death of Charlbi Dean. The 32-year-old passed away from a sudden illness at a hospital in NYC. She was well-loved by DC fans for her role as Syonide in Black Lightning.
Beyond Scare Straight alum Ashley Tropez was found dead on August 30th. Police suspect foul play and have arrested the woman accused of killing her. She was 25 years old.
Casting director Amanda Mackey died this week. Her death was announced on August 31st. She was the woman behind the casting for The Fugitive, A League of Their Own, Sleepy Hollow, and many more box office hits. She was 70 years old.
Boxer Earnie Shavers died on September 1st. He was known for having the hardest punch in boxing history and made a huge name for himself in the 70s. He was 78 years old.
