Entertainment News: Love & Family
Russell Crowe is off the market again. The actor stepped out publicly with Britney Theriot for their red-carpet debut. The couple posed for pics and confirmed their relationship status at the Poker Face premiere in Italy.
On the verge of confirming her relationship status is young superstar Billie Eilish. The multi grammy-winner was seen out and about with fellow musician Jesse Rutherford who is the lead singer of Neighborhood.
RHOC’s Braunwyn Windham-Burke is ending her 23-year marriage to Sean Burke. The couple is officially calling it quits two years after Braunwyn came out as a lesbian. They have seven children together ranging in age from 4 to 22.
Gold Star Accomplishments
Daniel Craig received a high honor this week. He was awarded the Order of Saint Michael and Saint George. This is a British order of chivalry that began in 1818. To make this more special, this is the same honor his character 007 was bestowed.
Illness & Injury
NBA Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo is facing a serious health scare. The legendary ball player went public this week with his brain tumor diagnosis. He is currently seeking treatment in Atlanta and is said to be in good spirits.
Entertainment News: Celebrity Scandals & Hot Topics
Kanye West is taking his restriction on Twitter rather seriously by trying to buy himself another social media platform. He put in an offer for Parler and it looks like this deal may go through.
James Corden made headlines this week when he was banned from New York City eatery, Balthazar. Allegedly, he made a scene during his two previous visits to the restaurant and the owner had enough. He has since apologized profusely and made peace with the owner. Entertainment Weekly has the full story.
Danny Masterson’s trial began on Tuesday. Opening statements were delivered in his sexual assault case. Masterson is accused of raping three women however he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Anna Faris opened up about the inappropriate behavior she experienced in Hollywood, particularly with the late director Ivan Reitman. The actress spoke about two incidents where she felt humiliated and violated.
Disgraced Canadian rocker Jacob Hoggard is going to prison. The former Hedley frontman was sentenced to 5 years after being found guilty of sexual assault causing bodily harm after raping a woman. He was found not guilty, however, of sex crimes against a minor.
Kevin Spacey got out of serious legal trouble this week after a New York court dismissed the sexual assault lawsuit against him. The civil case, brought forward by Anthony Rapp, was thrown out after a jury found Rapp did not prove the claim.
Casting & Changes
Selma Blair put her health first and cut her season short on Dancing with the Stars. She said she pushed as far as she could while battling MS but simply can not go on anymore.
Also stepping away from her role on DWTS is Cheryl Burke. She confirmed this season will be her last as a pro dancer. She is, however, open to returning as a judge.
Entertainment News: In Memoriam
Former NFL player Antonio Dennard was shot and killed outside Reading, Pennsylvania. He was pronounced dead on October 16th. Dennard was known for his time as a cornerback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Giants, and Green Bay Packers. He was 32 years old.
Rockabilly legend Robert Gordon passed away on October 18th. The singer was hailed for bringing the music style back to the forefront in the ‘70s. He died at 75 after a battle with Myeloid Leukaemia.
Famed R&B singer Joyce Sims has died. The songstress, best known for her hit song “Come Into My Life” passed away on October 17th at age 63. Her family did not release a cause of death.
Tony award-winning Broadway composer Lucy Simon died on October 20th after a battle with breast cancer. Lucy is most remembered for the 1991 smash hit Broadway show The Secret Garden, her time in the folk duo The Simon Sister with her famous sis Carly Simon, and for her solo work that won her multiple Grammy awards. She was 82 years old.
The Murder, She Wrote ensemble lost another member of their cast this week. Ron Masak, who played Sheriff Mort Metzger, died from natural causes on October 20th. In addition to playing opposite Angela Lansbury, he is also remembered for his roles in Webster, Police Story, and Love, Love Thy Neighbour. He was 86 years old.
