Entertainment News: Love & Family

Michelle Williams welcomed her third child. She and Thomas Kail were proud to announce the arrival of their son this week. Michelle and Thomas share another son, Hart, and Michelle has a little girl, Matilda with the late Heath Ledger.

Beauty Queens Miss Argentina and Miss Puerto Rico just got a higher title together. They went from ‘Miss’ to ‘Mrs.’ after a secret wedding. Maria Varela and Fabiola Valentín went public with their news this week. They took their vows on October 28th.

Last week, Alyssa Scott confirmed her third pregnancy and rumors ran rampant as to who the dad is. This week, confirmation came the baby’s daddy is, in fact, Nick Cannon. This miracle comes after losing their son, Zen in December 2021 from brain cancer. The little one will be Nick’s 11th child.

Gold Star Accomplishments

This was a massive week for Taylor Swift. The superstar took over the billboards with the release of her newest album, Midnights, and became the first ever person in history to hold all ten spots at the same time on the Billboard 100.

Lena Horne, who died in 2010, is getting a huge posthumous honor. She is the first black woman to have a Broadway theatre named after her. During her life, Lena broke barriers on the screen, stage, and in her activism. Her legacy continues with the unveiling of her namesake theatre.

Illness and Injury

My Three Sons actress Dawn Lyn is in a coma. TMZ reports her friends broke the news on the internet that she is currently fighting for her life after brain surgery. Her family is asking for privacy.

Sharon Stone recently revealed she has a large fibroid tumor and will soon have surgery. This comes after she took to social media to vent her frustration with a misdiagnosis that prolonged a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Entertainment News: Celebrity Scandals & Hot Topics

Actor Kit Connor made headlines this week after he was forced to come out as bisexual amid fan backlash over his role in Heartstopper. In the show, he plays a teen coming to terms with his bisexuality and viewers took to social media to accuse him of queer baiting for taking the role as they assumed he was straight.

Casting & Changes

The third and final season of Dead to Me airs on Netflix on November 17th. Christina Applegate opened up about pushing through her pain after her MS diagnosis to finish the show. TV Line has the full story.

Firefly Lane is also marking its final season. Netflix released the show’s trailer this week and announced an airdate for December 2nd.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

Tim Roth’s family is in mourning after the untimely death of his son. Cormac Roth died on October 16th after losing his battle with cancer. He was 25 years old. His legacy will live on through his music.

Migo’s rapper Kirshnik Khari Ball aka Takeoff was horrifically murdered this week. The rapper was shot in a Houston bowling alley on November 1st while playing die with fellow Migo member Quarto. He was 28 years old.

Julie and Julia author Julie Powell died on November 1st. The famed writer and food blogger was a pioneer of modern contemporary blogging and made a name for herself following her journey through making Julie Robert’s recipes. She passed at 49 years old.

Tony and Oscar-nominated writer, director, and performer, Douglas McGrath passed away suddenly while performing in his autobiographical off-Broadway production of Everything’s Fine on November 3. McGrath was best known for his screenplays for Emma, Company Man, and Bullets Over Broadway. He also directed the Emmy-nominated HBO documentaries His Way and Becoming Mike Nichols. He was 64 years old.

George Booth, an iconic cartoonist for the New Yorker since 1969, passed away at the age of 96 on November 1. Beloved for his expressive cartoons of cats and dogs, the six-foot-three mild-mannered cartoonist was cloaked in an air of humility about his work. Booth’s death came just one month after the passing of his wife, Dione. They were married for 64 years.

November 3rd marked the death of NFL legend Ray Guy. The football Hall of Fame was the most iconic punter of all time and was the first ever punter to ever be selected in the first-round draft. He was 73 years old.

“Face Off” reality show contestant and makeup/FX artist Laney Chantel died of an accidental overdose on Monday, October 31. She was just 33 years old.

TMZ reported that singer/rapper Aaron Carter, brother to Backstreet Boys Nick Carter, was found dead in his home in Lancaster, CA. Cause of death to be determined. He was 34 years old.
