It’s a girl for Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger. The couple welcomed their second daughter, Eloise Christina, on May 21. They share a one-year-old daughter and Chris has a 9-year-old son with Anna Ferris.
It was wedding number three for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. The couple said I do again in a grand ceremony in Italy. They walked down the aisle at a property owned by designers Dolce and Gabbana.
James Lafferty and Alexandra Park took their vows this week. The couple confirmed their new married relationship status on Instagram on Thursday.
Gold Star Accomplishments
Angela Lansbury will be honored at this year’s Tony Awards where she is set to receive the 2022 Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. The 96-year-old has spent the better part of her life on stage and screen during her 78 years as a performer.
Emmy winning star, Laverne Cox has a reason to celebrate. She’s getting her very own Barbie doll. Mattel is honoring the actress with a Tribute Collection Barbie made to her likeness creating the very first official transgender Barbie in history.
Entertainment News: Illness and Injury
On Tuesday, the members of Aerosmith put out a joint statement that Steven Tyler is heading to rehab. The rocker fell back into active addiction after receiving post-surgical pain management. Their Vegas Residency is called off while they focus on his well-being.
John Diskette Hopkins of the Zac Brown band was diagnosed with ALS. He made the announcement on Tuesday to his fans and followers on the band’s YouTube channel. He does not plan to slow down anytime soon.
Crime and Punishment
Sophia Bush is finally getting some relief after a scary stalker situation. The perp is finally under arrest and facing some serious charges after coming to her home.
Former 19 Kids and Counting cast member, Josh Duggar is going to federal prison for 12.5 years after being convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography. He was also fined $50,100. Upon his release he will be under parole office supervision for 20 years, forced to complete sex offender treatment, and prohibited from unsupervised contact with any minors, including his own children.
Manson follower and convicted murderer, Patricia Krenwinkle, 74, was deemed suitable for parole. The decision will be reviewed by the Board of Parole Hearings and the Governor of California will have 30 days after that to review it.
Celebrity Scandals
Kevin Spacey is under fire for more sexual assault allegations. This time, he was charged in the UK. He is facing accusations of several sex offenses from four victims. TMZ has the details.
The Spears family drama continues, this time with Britney and her legal team calling out Jamie Spears for ‘running and hiding’ from his deposition. They say he’s been dodging giving his statement for his alleged misconduct as Britney Spear’s conservator for the last six months.
Casting & Changes
Teen Mom 2’s Kailyn Lowry is leaving the franchise after a decade of being front and center since she was pregnant with her first son. Now, the mother of four says it’s time to move on.
Ellen Degeneres ended her 19-year-run as a talk show host. ‘Ellen’ wrapped up on May 26th in an emotional episode. The Emmy-winning was choked up as she said goodbye to her set, her guests, and her daytime tv fans.
Warwick Davis is back in action. He picked up his iconic role as Willow in the movie of the same name. The trailer for the series based on the film dropped this week. The official release is set for November.
Entertainment News: In Memoriam
Survivor: Thailand’s runner-up Clay Jordan passed away on May 20th. The season 5 favorite and hometown restauranteur died from complications from a short illness after being diagnosed with Covid. He was 66 years old.
May 26th saw the sudden death of Iconic actor Ray Liotta. The Goodfellas superstar died in his sleep from unknown causes while on location for his new movie, Dangerous Waters. His adult life Wass spent in the spotlight and garnered him many awards including an Emmy for his role on E.R. Liotta was 67-years old.
Bo Hopkins, the veteran actor of such films as American Graffiti, The Wild Bunch, The Getaway, and Midnight Express, passed away the morning of May 28 in Van Nuys, California, after suffering a heart attack on May 9th. The actor most recently reunited with his American Graffiti co-star, Ron Howard, for Hillbilly Elegy. He was 80.
Legendary Talent Manager George Shapiro passed away quietly in his home of natural causes on May 26th according to TMZ. He repped such names as Jerry Seinfeld, Elvis Presley, Carl Reiner, and Andy Kaufman. He was 91.
Depeche Mode’s founder, Andy Fletcher also died on May 26th. The 60-year-old rocker spent the majority of his adult life in the musical spotlight which led to the band’s multiple Grammy nominations and one Britt award for Best British Single.
The Baldwin family is in mourning this week after the loss of the family Matriarch. Carol M. Baldwin died on May 26th. Her cause of death was not released to the media at the time of publication. She was 92 years old.
John Zderko died of complications due to his cancer treatment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He was 60 years old.
72-year-old Alan White, the drummer of progressive rock pioneers Yes and John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band, died after a brief illness on May 26th.
