Entertainment News: Love and Family

Pride Month became the perfect opportunity for Maybelle “Mae” Blair to come out. The former ball player – who was part of the team that inspired A League of Their Own made the announcement at the Tribeca Festival.

Kenan Thompson will soon be a single man. The Saturday Night Live alum filed for divorce this week. He and his ex-wife, Christina Evangeline, will share custody of their children after ending their 11-year marriage.

Also ending a marriage is Johnny Knoxville. The Jackass star filed for divorce from his second wife, Naomi Knoxville. The couple separated in September 2021.

Demi Moore has a new lease on love. She went public this week with her boyfriend, Daniel Humm. She posted her first snap as a couple on Instagram.

Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Lyssa “Baby Lyssa” Chapman is a bride. She wed her longtime partner, Leiana Evensen in a dream Hawaii wedding on June 3.

It’s over for Lauren Graham and Peter Krause. The couple shared the announcement of their separation on Friday. The story told, they quietly ended their relationship last year and are just now finally going public with the breakup.

Gold Star Accomplishments

Jennifer Hudson reached EGOT status joining a small number of Hollywood stars who share the honor. June 13th marked her celebratory moment when she received her Tony and became the 14th person ever to revive all three major accolades.

This Week In Music

Beyoncé announced the upcoming release of her 7th studio album. Renaissance will drop on July 29th and is already much anticipated by fans.

Drake also has a new album. Honestly, Nevermind came out this week to high praise. The LP is his 7th solo endeavor and is dedicated to the late Virgil Abloh.

Entertainment News: Illness and Injury

Mick Jagger became sickly with Covid this week. The iconic rocker is doing well enough and is hoping to resume the European tour next week.

Also down with Covid his Hugh Jackman. The actor is also recovering as well as can be. He gave his fans an update on his Twitter profile.

Toby Keith is facing a major health crisis. The legendary courtly music star shared his stomach cancer diagnosis on June 12th. He was diagnosed in the fall of 2021 and has already begun treatments.

Ozzy Osbourne is recovering after another major neck surgery. His wife, Sharon Osbourne has kept fans and media up-to-date on his condition.

Celebrity Scandals

Ezra Miller is back in the news again this week. He has taken off and is in hiding with his 18-year-old “friend” after her family fought and won a restraining order to keep him away from her. The parents accuse him of grooming their daughter since the age of 12 and gravely fear for her safety with the star.

WWE is going through a huge change as Vince McMahon is stepping back. The Wrestling mogul is accused of misconduct and is taking time away during the investigation.

A major beef has broken out in the Dance Moms world. Maddie Ziegler spoke her truth about her time on the popular show and her statements rubbed Abby Lee Miller the wrong way. The dance coach took to the media to express her anger over Maddie’s accusations.

Kevin Spacey appeared in a UK court as he faces several sexual assault charges. The judge granted the 63-year-old an unconditional bail.

Riverdale’s Ryan Grantham plead guilty to second-degree murder for his mother’s killing back in March. This week, more crimes came to light. The actor said he was also plotting the murder of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. His sentencing hearing began on Monday. Nothing was official at the time of this publication.

Casting & Changes

Law & Order is getting a new face. Mehcad Brooks is taking on the role of Detective Kevin Bernard and will help fill the void as Another Anderson exits stage left.

The Wendy Williams show is coming to an end after 13 seasons. Wendy is officially retiring her purple chair and walking away. The final episode aired on June 17th.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

Iconic comic book artist, Tim Sale died on June 22. The famed illustrator worked on several notable series such as Batman: Dark Victory and Superman for All Seasons. He was 66 years old.

The world of politics lost a great when long-time Washington Post political columnist Mark Shields passed away on June 18th at 84. PBS NewsHour colleague and friend Judy Woodruff confirmed in a tweet.

Thursday, July 16th marked the death of teen star Tyler Sanders. The actor had roles in The Fear of the Walking Dead and 9-1-1 Lone Star. His cause of death is not yet known. He was 18 years old.

French Actor Jean-Lous Trintignant’s death was announced on Friday. The Cesar-winning actor passed away at the age of 91. He is best known for his infamous role in Amour.
