Entertainment News: Love & Family
Ex-MLB pitcher T.J. House is living his truth. He came out as gay this week and announced his engagement to his long-time boyfriend, Ryan Neitzel. According to TMZ, House is quoted as saying, “To live life authentically. One who I never deserved but blessed to have. Love you see, it’s for everyone.”
RHOBH star Diana Jenkins is pregnant with baby #4. The reality star, 49, and fiancé, Asher Monroe are thrilled by the news. This baby will join siblings Innis Eneya (Diana’s children with Roger Jenkins), and Eliyanah who is shared by Jenkins and Monroe.
Christina Ricci is officially a single lady. She finalized her divorce with James Heerdegen this week. The couple agreed she would keep her assets from her movies and the Los Angeles home but they would split the sale of their New York property and Christina would pay out $189,687 as a one-time payment to her ex. They also agreed to share custody of their children.
Below Deck star, Kate Chastain is pregnant with her first child. According to People Magazine, she is absolutely thrilled with the news.
Big news for Sister Wives fans. In the upcoming spoilers for the show’s three-part tell-all, Kody Brown announced his separation from a second wife. Janelle Brown followed Christine Brown’s lead and left the family.
Also out of the family is Meri Brown. People Magazine reported on the tell-all and cited the first wife is not a wife at all anymore. While it comes as no surprise to fans that Kody is out of that union, it’s quite a shock that Meri has finally accepted the split.
Illness and Injury
Blackish star Marsai Martin underwent surgery this week to remove a large ovarian cyst. The 18-year-old says she was in pain for the last four years from the growth and is sharing her experience with the world on Instagram.
Entertainment News: Celebrity Scandals & Hot Topics
Kelly Clarkson took action against an alleged stalker. She asked a judge for court-ordered protection from Victor Fernandez, a man who frequently shows up at and around her home. TMZ has the full story.
Also seeking an order of protection is Pretty Little Liar’s alum Ashley Benson. According to TMZ, she claims a 20-year-old man is blowing up her phone from over 40 different numbers and often leaves messages threatening self-harm if she doesn’t respond.
Casting & Changes
Season two of The Watcher could look a little different. Entertainment Weekly reported Jennifer Coolidge has yet to be asked to return to the hit show. She also said she would be pleased to go back if they offered ‘Karen’ to come back.
Henry Cavill is OUT as the Man of Steel. The Superman actor previously said he’s returning to the D.C. Universe but has since shocked fans by confirming the studio opted out of bringing him back.
The Young and the Restless and Passions alum is returning to CBS for a new series. Justin Hartley is set to star in the upcoming series The Never Game based on the bestselling novel by Jeffrey Deaver.
Entertainment News: In Memoriam
The world of basketball lost a great one this week. Paul Silas passed away on December 11th. The veteran player and Houston Rockets coach won several NBA world championships during his career and is hailed as a trailblazer in the game. He was 79 years old.
The football world is also in mourning after the loss of Mike Leach. The football coaching legend passed away due to complications from a heart condition on December 12th. He was 61 years old.
Monday, December 12th marked the death of composer Angelo Badalamenti. The musician was best known for being the composer behind the theme song for Twin Peaks and frequently collaborated with David Lynch. He was 85 years old.
Emmy-winning actor Stuart Margolin passed away on December 12th. The 82-year-old is fondly remembered for his roles as Everlyn “Angel” Martin in The Rockford Files for which he received two primetime Emmys. He also had starring roles in Death Wish, Arbitrage, and Kelly’s Heroes.
The entertainment world mourned the sudden loss of tWitch. The long-time Ellen DJ and So You Think You Can Dance judge took his own life on December 13th. Stephen ’tWitch’ Boss was found in a Los Angeles hotel. Reports state the 40-year-old left a suicide note that alluded to past challenges.
Dino Danelli, the drummer of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame band, The Rascals, passed away on December 15. The Jersey band was best known for their hits Groovin’, Good Lovin’, and Beautiful Morning. He was 78.
Abigail Kinoiki Kekaulike Kawānanakoa, acknowledged through lineage as Hawaii’s last princess, passed away on December 11. Her roots went back to Hawaii’s royal family and an Irish businessman who was one of the island’s biggest landowners. She was 96.
