Dane Cook stirred up a whole lot of controversy when he announced his engagement. The 50-year-old comedian is set to wed 23-year-old Kelsi Taylor. The couple has been together for five years – reportedly, they began dating shortly after Kelsi turned 18.
R&B singer NE-YO will soon be a single man. His wife, Crystal Renay filed for divorce this week citing her husband had an affair and has another woman pregnant. The couple wed in 2016 and share three children.
Also getting a divorce is actor Cam Gigandet (ex-Daniel, The Young and the Restless). His wife, Dominique Nicole Geisendorff, is ending their 13-year marriage citing irreconcilable differences. The couple has two children together.
Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian have parted ways. The celebrity duo insists the split is amicable according to E! News online.
Kenan Thompson is about to receive high acting honors. He’s joining the ranks of the elite with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His very special ceremony will take place on August 11th.
Supernatural alum and Walker star Jared Padalecki is improving after a “very bad car accident” on August 4th according to his friend and Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles at a New Jersey fan convention. Details here.
The man who struck and killed Nicki Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, during 2021 a hit and run will spend one year behind bars. Charles Polevich pled guilty to two felonies. On top of the sentence, he was ordered to pay a $5000 fine and will lose his license for six months.
Kevin Spacey may soon be $31 million poorer. He was ordered to pay the production company of House of Cards for damages incurred and court costs stemming from his sexual assault scandal. The company claims firing Spacey cost them millions. People Magazine has the full story.
It was bad news for NBA star Brittney Griner. She was sentenced to 9 years in prison in Russia for drug charges. The Russian courts allege she intentionally smuggled drugs into their company. Her family and fans are hoping the White House will step in with the case.
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was found liable for 4.1 million dollars in damages for his repeated lies about the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. He continually called the massacre a hoax. Scarlett Lewis and Neil Heslin, whose son was murdered, sued and won.
Beloved actress Edie McClurg lodged serious accusations of elderly abuse against what she thought was a friend. She claims Michael L. Ramos ‘finagled’ his way into her home, attempted to manipulate her into marriage, and sexually assaulted her caregiver (and possibly Edie herself). The judge ordered a restraining order and there is a hearing scheduled for next month.
Famed singer Shakira could face some time behind bars in Spain for tax fraud. It is alleged she failed to pay the Spanish government 14.5 million dollars in taxes between 2012-2021. She was charged with six different charges and the prosecutors rejected a settlement deal, even though Shakira paid the debt. Yahoo News has the details.

Ellen Pompeo shared big news with Grey’s Anatomy fans. She will appear in the new season, but only in 8 episodes. She is taking a back seat as the show shifts focus away from Meredith Grey. Pompeo will still be the main narrator. The actress is set to star in an original series for Hulu.
Keanu Reeves is moving to the small screen for the first time. He has taken a role in Hulu’s Devil in the White City which will be produced by Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The Joker sequel is getting a big name added to their cast. Lady Gaga joins the cast and is set to star opposite Joaquin Phoenix for Joker: Folie à Deux. The film’s release date is October 4, 2024.
The View is rounding out their upcoming season by adding Ana Navarro to the table. She is taking a permanent seat alongside newcomer Alyssa Farah Griffin and show vets Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sarah Haines.
The Dodgers lost a legend on August 2nd. The voice of the game, Vin Scully, who narrated games for nearly 70 years, passed away. The 94-year-old was beloved by sports fans and treasured but the team.
Child actor Pat Rosson, best known for The Andy Griffith Show and The Young Marrieds, passed away at 69 of a heart attack.
The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that Trixie Flynn, personal assistant to Robert DeNiro, James L. Brooks, and the late James Gandolfini, passed away of sudden respiratory failure at 74.
The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that Nicole Hazen, wife of General Manager Mike Hazen, passed away on August 4th due to complications from a rare form of cancer called glioblastoma.
Actress Roseanna Christiansen passed away at 71 in Lancaster, California. Christiansen was best known for her stints on Dallas and The Jefferson.
Australian folk singer Judith Durham of the Seekers passed away due to complications from lung disease at age 79 in Melbourne, Australia. The Seekers were one of the first Aussie bands to achieve major chart success due largely to the hit song Georgie Girl among other tunes.
Famed NASCAR driver Nick Castles, who later went on to become a stunt driver in Hollywood, passed away on August 4. He was known for his roles in films such as Elvis’s hit Speedway, Greased Lightning with Richard Pryor, and Six Pack with Kenny Rogers. He was 88.
Cowboy-turned-actor Clu Gulager succumbed to natural causes in Los Angeles. With almost 70 years of television and films under his belt, the hard-working actor was best known for memorable roles in classics opposite such film greats as Lee Marvin in The Killers, Paul Newman in Winning, and John Wayne in McQ, and his roles in critical successes such as The Tall Man, The Last Picture Show, and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He was 93.
Actor Roger E. Mosley, best known for his role as the helicopter pilot Theodore “T.C.” Calvin on the original CBS series Magnum P.I. and John Books on the new Magnum, passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 83. The actor counted O.J. Simpson, Marla Gibbs, and Larry Manetti among his good friends. The cause of death was undisclosed.
