Entertainment News: Love & Family

It’s over for Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin. She filed for divorce this week ending their 25-year marriage. While the reasoning has yet to hit the presses, there are rumors their union has been rocky for quite some time.

New Kids on the Blocks member Jonathan Knight is a married man. He announced his union with Harley Rodriguez to the media on August 25th but did not confirm when the wedding actually happened.

Another baby makes ten for Nick Cannon. He and Brittney Bell announced she was pregnant! This will be their third child together. Nick shares children with multiple other women including twins with Mariah Carey.

Xander Pump Rules stars Scheana Shay and Brock Davies are husband and wife. The couple got married in Mexico this past week in a dream wedding overlooking the beach. This is a second marriage for each.

Dancing with the Stars pros Sasha Faber and Emma Slater are ending their union. The couple wed in 2018 and announced their separation this week.

Nichelle Nichols is getting an out-of-this-world resting place. Her ashes will board a Vulcan rocket launch this year and be scattered on the moon and beyond. This is a final nod to the actress who broke barriers in her role as Star Trek’s Lieutenant Uhura.

Entertainment News: Celebrity Scandals & Hot Topics

Vanessa Bryant won big in court this week. She was allotted a $16 million settlement against Los Angeles County for emotional distress. This suit stems from eight L.A. country Sheriff’s deputies who kept cell phones of the plane crash scene that took the lives of Kody Bryant and their daughter. TMZ has the details.

George Foreman is heading to court. He is accused of sexual abuse against two women who claim he took advantage of them as teens. This all went down when Foreman was in his 20s. One woman claims he began grooming her when she was just 8 years old.

Michelle Branch is off the hook with her domestic assault case. The charges were dropped on Wednesday. She was taken to the cop shop on August 11th after a dispute with her husband, Patrick Carney.

Casting & Changes

Law & Order: SVU fans got a shock this week when Kelli Giddish announced this was the last season for Detective Amanda Rollins. She has played the role for a decade and feels it’s time for her – and Rollins – to move on.

Barbie Ferreira will not be returning for season three of the HBO smash hit Euphoria. She is saying goodbye to her role as Kat Hernandez but declined to give a reason why.

Elton John has a new project in the works. He is bringing The Story of Tina Faye to the London stage. The production is set to premiere in October. People Magazine has all the details.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

Daytime Emmy-nominated and Tony-nominated actor Robert LuPone passed away on August 27 after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Well known in theater circles as the co-founder of the Off-Broadway MCC theatre and for being Patti LuPone’s older brother, LuPone was 76.

August 23rd marked the death of legendary coach Gary Gaines. The muse for Friday Night Lights passed away at 73 years old after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

Beverly Hills, 90210 star, Joe E. Tata passed away on August 25th – also after suffering from Alzheimer’s. He was best known for his portrayal of The Peach Pit owner, Nat Bussichino. He was 85 years old.
