Kristin Davis reveals the biggest dating mistake of her life.
Sex and the City star Kristin Davis shared a “huge mistake” she made while dating. The wild story sounds like a plot twist that would’ve happened on the iconic show.
Davis teased the details of her dating history. During the Sunday, January 19th episode of Are You a Charlotte? podcast, Davis revealed that she dated a well-off actor who ghosted her. The encounter took place long before she starred on the hit HBO series. Davis admitted, “I probably should have known better.”
“I think this was before ‘Sex and the City,’ maybe between ‘Melrose’ and ‘Sex and City or maybe when I was on ‘Melrose.’ I don’t know,” Davis explained. She teased the “now very successful” actor she dated during that time. The actress explained that he was “now very successful.” (Find out how Davis got her start with soaps.)
Davis recalled a time when she was at his house. She saw bill notices threatening to cut off his electricity. Davis asked him what happened. He told her that he got into a motorcycle crash, which led to his acting career. “And I was like, ‘Can I lend you some money?’ Horrible mistake,” Davis shared.
But wait; there’s more. Davis shared that their relationship shifted after she lent him money. At the time, she was lovestruck. Davis wanted to help the poor man out. “He’s so talented, which he is. Lend him money. I think it was all of $5,000 — a lot of money,” Davis explained. He stopped returning her calls after that moment.
That’s when she took one step further. Davis knocked on his front door. He eventually returned her calls “later on” and wondered if she was the one banging at his door. She admitted that it was “messy” getting involved with him. Davis refused to name drop the famous actor in the podcast episode.
The only hint she gave was that he “lives out in the country with some children.” Davis didn’t talk about her current dating life. She has never been married.
